La revue du Vin de France

Emile Beyer, the oenologist trained in Dijon where he was established in 1928, and founder of the domain, was succeeded by Luc in 1963, then Christian, who gained his experience at the château Rieussec, in the Sauterne region and at Schloss Johannisberg in Germany. The vineyard includes very fine parcelles in the two local Grands crus: Eichberg and Pfersigberg.

The Esprit de Pinot cuvée is a liqueur offering an attractive confiture flavour and richness: the wine is precise in its aromas and the balance is well managed.

The Rieslings are bright, all defined by a great aromatic honesty. The style of the domain tends towards the gentle Rieslings, and the larger terroir, is better managed with  a mellow quality linked to the natural suavity. This is the case for the Riesling Grand Cru Pfersigberg, which is very persistent; the Eichberg is just cohesive as well, with an acidity based more on citrus fruits.

With a fine, subtle, spiced definition and elegant palate, which rises in a crescendo, the Gewurztraminer Grand Cru Pfersigberg is a veritable wine for educating the palate.

The Instant Rare is more closed, but we salute the level of concentration and the superb management in the palate of this cuvée derived from the pinot auxerrois and pinot blanc: a fine achievement.

The Pinot Gris Vendanges Tardives produces a real moment of pleasure: this is a superb expression of a late harvested Grand Cru, it digests, and is pure and refined for such a vine variety; the palate never rests on the sugars.
