The village of Eguisheim

st-leon-statue-min.jpgThis village is the birthplace of the Pope Saint Léon IX. Eguisheim has an important place in Alsace wine growing history. Surrounded by vineyards, on leafy slopes, Eguisheim is a medieval village, whose concentric side streets enhance the aspect of the architecture of the half-timbered houses  decorated with flowers.

The Eguisheim vineyard

Vignes_trois-chateaux-min.jpgIt was in the 4th century that the Romans planted the first vineyards in Eguisheim. Since that time, generations of wine growers have developed their experience here:
- The Eguisheim Grands Crus: Eichberg and Pfersigberg
- The late harvest wines and Grains Nobles Selections
- The Crémants d'Alsace
